We Care About Your Pets as Much as You Do!

Columbia MO VeterinarianYou and your pets (dogs, cats and yes, exotics such as birds and reptiles too) will feel right at home at My Zoo Animal Hospital, conveniently located in north-central Columbia MO.

If you’re looking for professional veterinary care – including the latest in technology and medical equipment – with a personal touch, you’ve come to the right place.

Veterinary medicine should be “as happy and as friendly as possible”, according to founder Dr. Debbie Leach, DVM.  If that means by-passing some traditional vet practices – such as examining your dog on the floor instead of the exam table, if they’re more comfortable that way – that’s how it’s done.  House calls are available if necessary too.

Boarding (including day boarding) is another example of our commitment to excellence in pet care – especially when you don’t have to worry about leaving aging, nervous or ill pets at home.

My Zoo Animal Hospital also offers the latest in pet medical technology, including digital x-rays, companion laser services, pet dental care, in house-blood analyzers and even in-house cremation services.

Call or come by; we’d love to meet you and your pet!

Normal Clinic Hours:
Open Mon. through Friday, 7:30 am to 7:00 pm.
Saturday, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm.
Closed on Sunday. (Sunday evening boarding pickup available by appointment.)

Important note regarding COVID-19 – last updated 6/2/20:

If you have an appointment for your pet, please call us at 573-875-3647 when you arrive and a team member will discuss any procedures/concerns with you over the phone. They will then ask you to bring your pet into our airlock and leave them there while you go back outside. Please bring small pets in a pet carrier. As soon as you are outside, a team member will retrieve your pet. Please remain on the premises in your vehicle during your pet’s appointment. We will call you when your pet’s appointment is done, and do the same airlock procedure to return your pet to you.

If you are picking up medication or food, please call us to let us know you are here and we will place your items in a basket in our airlock for you to retrieve.

All credit and debit card transactions will be processed over the phone. We are still accepting cash, but ask that if you have the option to please use card instead.

We can offer examinations via FaceTime for existing patients in some circumstances; please call our office for more details.

For future updates on COVID-19 as it relates to your pet, please monitor the AVMA website and our Facebook page.

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding as we navigate these changes together, and please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns.
